On August 31, 2020, NIO’s 20kW household fast charging pile has been officially launched for sale. NIO officially announced that the new installation price of the charging pile is 16,800 yuan, the existing home charging pile users have a preferential price of 15,800 yuan, and the first equity deduction price is 9,800 yuan.

Before the launch of home fast charging piles, NIO’s second-generation home charging piles had a maximum power of 7kW. According to official data, it takes 10 hours to charge a 100kWh battery pack from 20% to 90%, and the new 20kW fast charging pile only takes 3.5 hours charging a 70kWh battery pack from 20% to 90%, the two charging piles require 7 hours and 2.5 hours respectively.

In terms of price, the “new installation price” means that the user has purchased NIO model and already owns a 7kW charging pile. If a customer adds another 20kW fast charging pile, they will need to pay 16,800 yuan; the “existing home charging pile user preferential price” means that the user has already gotten a 7kW charging piles, the replacement of 20kW fast charging piles requires a fee of 15,800 yuan; the “first equity deduction price” means that when users choose not the official 7kW charging piles, instead of a 20kW fast charging piles, only an additional 9,800 yuan is required. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the fast charging pile can be applied to all pure electric vehicles that meet the national standard fast charging port, that is, other brand models can also be used.

NIO also gave answers to some common questions about the new home fast charging pile. For example, pure electric vehicles that meet the national standard fast charging interface can get basically the same charging power, so users of other brand models can also buy with confidence. At the same time, in addition to the open-air installation of the charging pile, the official also provides a 3-year warranty for the entire pile.
