Hengchi Auto Claimed It’s First EV Hengchi 5 pre-orders for 37,000 units


At the first 720 Hengchi Festival last night, Hengchi Auto announced that as of about 18:04, the number of pre-sale orders for Hengchi 5 reached 37,000. Previously, it was reported on the Internet that the new car is related to the assessment tasks of some Evergrande properties. The sales assessment indicators are determined according to the number of owners in the community. Perhaps the first batch of Hengchi 5 target consumers are the owners of Evergrande properties.

It is worth noting that Liu Yongzhuo, president of Hengchi New Energy Automobile Group, said in an interview with the media that since the pre-sale conference was held on July 6, the market response of this EV has been higher than expected. Hengchi 5’s hot sale is a foregone conclusion.

On July 6, Hengchi 5 officially opened for pre-sale, and Hengchi announced the pre-sale price of a luxury version of a model – 179,000 yuan. Hengchi Automobile said that the first batch of 10,000 new cars will be delivered successively from October this year, and the first batch of 10,000 vehicles will be finished delivery by the first quarter of next year.

Hengchi 5 is positioned as a compact pure electric SUV with a cruising range of 602km under CLTC conditions. Hengchi claimed that this car is the best pure electric SUV within 300,000 yuan.

The length/width/height of the new car are 4725mm/1925mm/1676mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2780mm. The interior consists of a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 14.6-inch center control screen and a 10.25-inch passenger screen. The entire center console uses a T-shaped design, and the screen in the middle is the largest in size. The chip comes from Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon digital cockpit platform. 5G communication, high-precision map, Baidu ecosystem, on-screen virtual assistant, intelligent voice interaction, gesture interaction, etc., are also equipped with face recognition, which can realize fatigue driving warning.

Of course, 19 high-level assisted driving functions are also available, and remote parking is also supported.

In the power part, the total power/torque of the Hengchi 5 motor is 150kW/345Nm, and the acceleration per 100 kilometers is 7.8s. The comprehensive cruising range under CLTC working conditions is 602km. The battery pack is from CATL, with lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 72.8kWh.

Combining the model positioning and price, Hengchi 5’s competitors are basically locked on models like BYD SONG PLUS EV and Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ. From the perspective of battery range and power alone, Hengchi 5 is very cost-effective, but we don’t know the chassis tuning, the actual performance of workmanship and intelligent configuration.
