AITO M8 Officially Launched, Starting at RMB 359,800, Featuring Huawei Turing Intelligent Chassis

Today, at the Harmony Intelligent Mobility New Product Launch Event, AITO officially launched its all-new large SUV, the AITO M8. The new vehicle is available in six trim levels with a price range of RMB 359,800 to RMB 449,800. Notably, the AITO M8 is built upon the Huawei Turing Intelligent Chassis system and features a range-extended powertrain, offering a maximum combined driving range of 1526 km.


Positioned as a family smart flagship SUV, the AITO M8 incorporates multiple cutting-edge technologies and innovative concepts from Huawei, aiming to redefine the benchmark for family smart mobility. The M8 continues the brand’s signature “Kunpeng Design Language” and emphasizes safety with a seven-fold safety design. Its “Eight Horizontal and Five Vertical” body structure utilizes 81% high-strength materials, complemented by a ten-cell aluminum alloy door sill beam and a comprehensive safety system including 9 airbags and 16 safety points, providing multi-dimensional protection. The All-Direction Anti-Collision 3.0 system offers all-around safety alerts, and the redundancy design of six core systems further ensures safety.

Equipped with the Huawei Turing Platform, the AITO M8 comes standard with dual-chamber air suspension, the MFSS multi-modal fusion sensing system, and the Pre-Curve corner prediction system. These features significantly enhance both ride comfort and safety. The new range-extended powertrain boasts a thermal efficiency of 44.8%, with fuel consumption as low as 6.6L/100km when the battery is depleted. It offers a pure electric range of 310 km and a remarkable combined driving range of 1526 km.

In terms of appearance, the AITO M8’s styling design continues AITO’s aesthetic principles of “ultimate, pure, and minimalist.” The exterior adopts a new Kunpeng Leap Design language. The vehicle’s integrated Tianjing Huan Yu front headlights incorporate chrome trim, daytime running lights, high and low beam headlights, intelligent interactive headlights, nebula lighting effects, and other functions into a single element.

Looking at the side profile, the AITO M8, based on the Huawei Smart Car Language system, can achieve an ultra-close-range welcome projection effect. At the same time, the vehicle will also feature new gesture control, enabling contactless intelligent control of the driver and passenger doors. The side camera can recognize hand gestures near the door to automatically open it. The AITO M8 achieves a drag coefficient of 0.259Cd through multiple design elements such as floating rearview mirrors, semi-hidden door handles, an integrated low-drag light group design, front bumper side air curtains, an AGS active air intake grille, and low-drag wheel rims. The semi-hidden door handles feature a light-touch micro switch for electric pop-out unlocking, and it is also equipped with an independent CPM power redundancy module and retains a mechanical unlocking structure and other safety unlocking designs.

At the rear, the AITO M8 adopts a new ISD intelligent interactive taillight design. The new intelligent light language draws inspiration from life, incorporating more life scenarios and bringing new themes such as the City Showcase. The vehicle will also feature a kick-activated tailgate, allowing users to open the trunk by kicking when carrying heavy items, further enhancing operational convenience. In terms of dimensions, the new car has a length, width, and height of 5190/1999/1795mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3105mm.

In terms of interior, the AITO M8 offers two layout options: three rows with six seats and two rows with five seats. The interior adopts a dual-embracing cockpit design. The AITO M8’s interior offers four color schemes: “White Sand Apricot” and “Red Tea Orange” are standard, while “Amber Brown” and “Nebula Red” are available as options. The entire interior of the AITO M8 is covered with NAPPA leather, a suede microfiber roof, and wood grain trim on the center console and door handles, and it uses a 3D-mesh wrapping process. The six-seat version comes standard with zero-gravity seats in the right rear, while the five-seat version features quasi-zero-gravity seats in the right rear. The driver’s seat comes standard with an extended leg rest, and the front passenger seat offers a “Ballet Folding Dual-Purpose Seat,” further enhancing ride comfort.

In terms of configuration, the AITO M8 is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch intelligent central control screen, and a 16-inch co-pilot entertainment screen. It supports HDR Vivid mode and adaptive light-sensing adjustment. Combined with the HarmonyOS 4 intelligent cockpit, users can easily switch between multiple screens with a three-finger swipe. At the same time, the Xiaoyi intelligent assistant is powered by a large AI model, based on the Pangu large model and the DeepSeek large model.

AITO M8 is also equipped with a 32-inch liftable projection screen that supports a one-key movie watching mode and newly added remote control. It features an upgraded new hidden projection light engine, embedding the projector into the roof structure to further enhance the interior aesthetics. In addition, the second-row projection screen has a new hovering function, with the in-car floating window precisely hovering at the top of the cockpit. This achieves zero intrusion into headroom and does not obstruct the interior rearview mirror, while also displaying navigation information and karaoke lyrics while driving. The new vehicle introduces new possibilities for in-car expansion through HUAWEI Maglink, achieving seamless connection of multiple devices and creating a seamless MatePad in-car experience for users. This allows for shareable joyful interaction, enabling the third row to also have an independent screen. Furthermore, the AITO M8 will offer a MagLink Mini rear control screen solution. The MagLink Mini is about the size of a smartphone and supports functions such as laser projection giant screen, co-pilot seat folding, seat heating, ventilation, and massage, zero-gravity seats, and air conditioning.

In terms of intelligent driving, the AITO M8 is equipped with a top-mounted 192-line LiDAR, a high-precision solid-state LiDAR, a matrix of 3 distributed 4D millimeter-wave radars, 2 4D millimeter-wave corner radars, 11 high-definition visual perception cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, totaling 30 perception hardware units. Additionally, the AITO M8 will debut an intelligent defogging system that monitors the temperature and humidity inside and outside the vehicle, air quality, and condensation status on the glass surface in real time. In scenarios such as heavy rain, extreme cold, or sudden temperature changes, the system can autonomously decide the optimal defogging solution. The AITO M8 features the HUAWEI XHUD Huawei Immersive Head-Up Display system, which supports the integration of real-scene and intelligent driving, presenting a 68-inch ultra-large screen. The vehicle will also add an AR-HUD one-key recording function. When encountering magnificent scenery or interesting scenes while driving, users can simply touch a button on the steering wheel to synchronously record dynamic images from the AR-HUD perspective and share them to social platforms with one click.

In terms of space, the six-seat version of the AITO M8 offers 41 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, with a conventional trunk volume of 353L, which can be expanded to 1284L after the third row is folded down. There is also a 39L hidden compartment. The five-seat version of the AITO M8 offers 39 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, with a standard trunk volume of 976L, which can be expanded to 2348L after the second row is folded down. There is also an extra-large 110L hidden compartment.

In terms of power, the new vehicle is equipped with a 1.5T range-extender system. The maximum power of the range extender is 118kW (160 horsepower), and the peak power of the front and rear dual motors are 165kW and 227kW respectively. The vehicle will be equipped with a 37kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and a 53.4kWh ternary lithium battery pack, with a CLTC pure electric range of 201km/310km and a combined range of 1405km/1526km.

In addition, the AITO M8 is built based on the Huawei Turing Platform’s intelligent chassis system, supporting road surface perception HUAWEI ADS, intelligent vehicle state perception iVSE, dynamic adaptive torque control HUAWEI DATS, and intelligent vehicle body coordinated control HUAWEI XMOTION. It integrates sensor information from the intelligent driving system to support full-scenario intelligent road preview, predicting the road conditions ahead in advance. Combined with the adaptive active suspension that adjusts stiffness, it provides more comfort when passing through bumpy roads and improves handling when driving on good roads.
