Facelift Chery Tiggo 8 made its debut at 2019 Shanghai Auto Show and launched pre-sale. 2019 Tiggo 8 basically continued the overall design of the current model, the Chery design team led by former BMW car designer Kevin Rice has made adjustment in details. The pre-sale price was 119,900-149,900 yuan (~US$17,429 – US$21,790).
Compare to the current Chery Tiggo 8, the grille of 2019 Tiggo 8 has made update, using matrix chrome trim, the internal structure of the headlight group is also optimized, equipped with matrix LED automatic headlights and dynamic turn signals. The position of the daytime running lights is slightly different from the outgoing model, and the shape is also changed.
In terms of body size, 2019 Tiggo 8 has a length, width and height of 4,7080/1860/1746 mm and a wheelbase of 2710 mm, which is as same as the outgoing model. 2019 Tiggo 8 is equipped with a new style of double five-spoke hubs, which is more fashionable. The bar-style taillight keep remained. The bilateral exhaust ports have become square, in addition, the rear bumper has canceled the silver shield design.
In the interior part, the change of 2019 Tiggo 8 is very obvious, the central control panel is upgraded to floating style, the size is also upgraded to 10.25 inches, and the air conditioning panel is also upgraded to touch sensitive. The full LCD instrument panel has been upgraded to 12.3 inches for a clearer display and richer content.
The full LCD instrument can support navigation, multiple intelligent assisted driving system scenarios, Internet service information, scene interaction, instrument layout can be customized, and support FOTA cloud upgrade function. In addition, the new car will also provide wireless charging, stepless color-changing ambient lights.
It is worth mentioning that the leather material is from LEAR, the same supplier as Jaguar Land Rover.
In terms of power, 2019 Tiggo 8 has added the latest third-generation ACTECO 1.6TGDI engine (Review of Chery 1.6T Engine) from Chery, with a maximum power of 145kW (194HP) and a peak torque of 290N·m. It matches the 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox from Getrag, claimed fuel consumption is 7.4L/100km.
