BYD is gearing up to expand its flagship lineup, with reports indicating that the upcoming “Da Han” model is set to make its debut as early as this month. Following its unveiling, pricing details—whether for pre-sale or an official market launch—are expected to be announced in June.
The Da Han is positioned to join the BYD “Da Tang” to form a dual-flagship strategy for the brand. For context, the Da Tang EV, which is scheduled for launch within May, has previously announced a pre-sale price range of 250,000 to 320,000 RMB (approximately $34,500 to $44,200 USD).
While official images remain under wraps, unofficial renderings suggest the Da Han will adopt BYD’s latest design language, mirroring the aesthetic of the Da Tang. Key visual features are expected to include a striking full-width LED light bar and vertical air intakes integrated into the lower front bumper, complemented by LED daytime running lights. Speculation also points to the availability of a two-tone paint scheme and body-colored performance brake calipers, though these details await official confirmation.
Inside, spy shots reveal a cabin layout that shares significant design DNA with the Da Tang, including a matching steering wheel configuration.
In terms of powertrain, the Da Han will offer both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and pure electric (EV) variants. It will feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery technology and advanced fast-charging capabilities. Given that the Da Tang EV boasts a maximum range of 950 kilometers (approx. 590 miles), industry expectations suggest the Da Han EV could push that figure to 1,000 kilometers (approx. 621 miles).
