BYD’s 14 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) officially rolled off the production line at its Brazilian passenger vehicle factory, marking that BYD has entered a new phase in its globalization drive. With this, BYD has become the world’s first NEV manufacturer to reach the milestone of 14 million units. At the event site, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, presented the 14 millionth NEV – a SONG Pro – to Brazilian President Lula.

Wang Chuanfu stated, “BYD has been present in Brazil for over 11 years, and its electric buses have traveled through the streets and alleys of Brazil. Today, BYD has more than 170,000 vehicle owners in Brazil and has been the sales champion of Brazil’s NEV market for two consecutive years. In Brazil, BYD is not just an investor, but a long-term partner.”

Furthermore, BYD will provide 30 customized NEVs for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will be held in Belém, Pará State, Brazil this year, to enable low-carbon transportation services. After the conference, these vehicles will also be donated to local schools and public institutions to continue serving Brazilian society and supporting green mobility.

Notably, the road in front of the main entrance of BYD’s Brazilian factory has been officially renamed “BYD Avenue”. This is the 3rd road named after “BYD” overseas. The previous two are located in Lancaster, USA, and Rayong, Thailand, respectively – both closely linked to BYD’s production bases. As the first BYD Avenue in South America, it further demonstrates the depth and breadth of BYD’s global brand layout.Looking ahead, BYD will continue to adhere to the strategy of “integrating internationalization and localization”, deepen its industrial layout in major global markets, and driven by innovative technology and green concepts, continuously promote the green transformation and sustainable development of the global automotive industry.
