BYD Uzbekistan Factory Rolls Out First Batch of Mass-Produced Vehicles

Recently, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the BYD Uzbekistan Factory and witnessed the official rollout of the first batch of mass-produced new energy vehicles from the factory, BYD SONG PLUS DM-i Champion Edition, together with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Yu Jun, BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu, and Executive Vice President Li Ke. In addition, BYD signed a green transportation cooperation initiative with the Uzbek government to jointly promote sustainable travel solutions.

The BYD Uzbekistan Factory is located in Jizzakh Region. The establishment of the factory is a significant milestone following the announcement of a joint venture between BYD and Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) in December 2022. The first phase of the project plans to produce two plug-in hybrid models, the SONG PLUS DM-i Champion Edition and BYD Destroyer 05 Champion Edition. The first-phase annual production capacity is expected to reach 50,000 units to meet the sales demand in the Central Asian market.

At the beginning of this year, President Mirziyoyev led a delegation to visit BYD’s global headquarters during his visit to China, attending and witnessing the production launch ceremony of BYD’s Uzbekistan factory. This factory has entered the mass production stage, which not only accelerates the popularization of new energy passenger vehicles in Uzbekistan, but also helps to promote the development of Uzbekistan’s new energy vehicle industry through the green transportation cooperation initiative signed between BYD and the Uzbekistan government.
