BYD Song Pro was unveiled on April 16th at 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. BYD Song Pro is actually the facelift of current BYD Song, one of the BYD Dynasty series models. It inherited the latest Dragon Face 2.0 design, as well as a simple yet technologically-sound interior and rich configuration, while it will still introduce fuel, DM plug-in hybrid and pure electric versions. In addition, it is reported that BYD Song Pro will be officially listed in the middle of this year. The price range of fuel models will start from 120,000 end 150,000 yuan (~US$17807 to 22,259), the price of new energy models are about 200,000 to 250,000 yuan (~US$29,679 – 37,099).

BYD Song Pro is the facelift of the current BYD Song. The front face adopts BYD’s latest Dragon Face 2.0 design language. The EV version has a unique matrix decoration structure in the grille. The through-plated chrome strips are cleverly connected to the headlights on both sides. The biggest change is the new shape of the LED headlights, which consists of tripe-seven(“777”) beams, this is the design inspired by dragon claws. The shape of the lower air intake and fog light area is also upgraded.
The shape of the body side is more dynamic and beautiful, especially the the “dragon-like” curve in the middle, extending from the front to the rear, while the bottom is similar to the light and shadow effect of a sports car, but the most eye-catching is the D-pillar decoration piece, it offers a personalized customization. The length, width and height of the body are 4650mm/1860mm/1700mm, wheelbase is 2712mm，52mm longer than outgoing model. The rear part is also powerful, Especially the lower through-type taillights are the most eye-catching.
In terms of interiors, BYD Song Pro continues the latest family-style design and layout, but it is not as same as BYD Qin Pro and BYD Tang. The eye-catching is the 12.8-inch adaptive rotary touch screen, it is integrated DiLink intelligent network connection system, and 7 degree tilt to the driver’s side, to highlight the concept of dual space (main driving area + co-drive area).
BYD Song Pro is also equipped with a new style 3-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, automatic inductive atmosphere lights, adjustable rear seats, and a variety of interior colors to match different styles. BYD Song Pro is BYD’s first model to use the “BYD Heart” integrated console, the button still uses Chinese fonts. (BYD Heart combines driving, shifting, driving mode, and air-conditioning shortcuts to further upgrade the experience through a faster control path.)
BYD Song Pro is also very sophisticated in the interior, it is covered with a lot of soft leather. Thanks to the wheelbase of 2712mm, BYD Song Pro’s rear space is more spacious than the current model, it has a rear air conditioning outlet and USB interface, while the new energy model also provides 220V power interface.
In terms of power, BYD Song Pro will still provide three power combinations: “fuel”, “plug-in hybrid” and “pure electric”. The fuel version and the plug-in hybrid version are powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 118kW (158HP), max torque of 245N.m, the fuel version is matched with 6-speed automatic transmission.
The PHEV version is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5Litre turbo engine + motor + battery, it claims a 0-100km/h acceleration time 4.9s. The total fuel consumption per 100 km is only 1.4L. The pure electric version is powered by the latest permanent magnet synchronous motor, the maximum integrated power is 120kW (161HP), and the NEDC working range is expected to exceed 310miles(500km).
