At 2019 Chengdu Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz’s new-gen GLS was officially unveiled, GLS made its debut at the New York Auto Show this year, the Chengdu Motor Show is the first appearance of Benz GLS in China.
The new-gen GLS is a large SUV in the Mercedes lineup, the new car is based on the Mercedes-Benz MHA modular platform, the new design language makes the new GLS look more modern, while the new GLS will be available in both sports and off-road kits. In terms of size, the new generation of Mercedes-Benz GLS has a length of 5207mm and a width of 1959mm. The wheelbase is 60mm longer than the old model and reaches 3135mm.
In the interior, thanks to the new platform design, the interior design of the new GLS is also more luxurious, features dual 12.3-inch screen,the shape of the lower part of the center console is simple, providing 6-seater(2+2+2) and 6-seater (2+3+2) layout. In terms of configuration, the new car provides the Berlin sound surround sound system, wireless charging, 64-color ambient light, 9 USB ports as standard, and provides heating/cooling cup holders, head-up display, seat massage.
In terms of power, the new generation of Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC and GLS 580 4MATIC will be firstly launched in the United States. The GLS 450 4MATIC is powered by a 3.0T inline six-cylinder engine and a 48V micro-hybrid system with maximum power of 270kW (362hp) and maximum torque of 500Nm. A higher performance version of the AMG GLS 63 and the Maybach GLS will also be introduced.
