Recently, at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2019 (HC), Huawei demonstrated a series of automotive-related technology solutions, including smart driving, intelligent network, smart cockpit, smart car cloud and smart electric. Among them, the L4 level full stack intelligent driving solution (ADS) is the most interesting. According to Huawei, in the second half of this year, the Audi team equipped with Huawei ADS has gradually scaled up the road test, the fleet size is about ten.
It is reported that Huawei ADS fully integrates the multi-faceted capabilities of chips, algorithms, data, etc., as the core of Huawei ADS, Huawei Smart Driving Computing Platform (MDC) is based on self-developed AI chips, car control OS and other basic technologies. Huawei said that MDC is an open, standardized intelligent driving computing platform.
On the aspect of chip, Huawei’s self-developed high-calculation autopilot SOC chip can process multi-channel sensor data and complete complex path decision-making and planning. At the same time, Huawei has researched the core algorithm and focused on design optimization of complex road conditions in China. In addition, through cooperation with car companies to establish a test team to optimize data capabilities, accumulate road test data and constantly improve the drive system.
Huawei ADS can meet the smooth evolution of L2+ level ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) to L4 level automatic driving. The program is also designed to support the mass production of autonomous driving systems, which can help automakers achieve rapid landing and automatic upgrade through OTA.
In addition to Audi, Huawei has also cooperated with automakers such as FAW Hongqi, Dongfeng Motor, King Long, and self-driving companies such as Neolix and Shandong Haorui.
