On June 29, BYD officially launched its new sub-brand, Linghui, with the debut of the M9 MPV. The vehicle is available in two trim levels, priced at 188,800 yuan ($26,000) and 199,800 yuan ($27,500), respectively. Positioned as a mid-to-large MPV, the M9 shares its platform with the BYD Xia and is designed to cater to both corporate fleet services and high-end family transportation.

In terms of exterior design, the Linghui M9 largely inherits the styling language of the BYD Xia, with the most notable change being the new Linghui brand logo integrated into the chrome trim connecting the headlights. The front fascia features a “Qingyun” grille paired with LED daytime running lights, projecting a professional business aesthetic. The vehicle is available in four exterior colors: Haoyue White, Xuanmo Black, Canglan Cyan, and Lingyun Purple.

The M9 measures 5,200mm in length, 1,970mm in width, and 1,805mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045mm. It is 55mm longer than the BYD Xia, while maintaining the same width and wheelbase. The entry-level 1105 Luxury trim features a power-sliding door on the right side, while the higher-spec 1105 Premium trim offers dual power-sliding doors.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with a floating touchscreen and a 12.3-inch embedded instrument cluster. The central display measures 12.8 inches in the Luxury trim and 15.6 inches in the Premium trim. The vehicle runs on the DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit system, supporting full-scene voice interaction, mobile-to-vehicle navigation transfer, and Huawei HiCar connectivity.

The M9 features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. The second-row seats are highly adjustable, offering one-touch reclining, four-way power lumbar support, multi-mode massage, and heating/ventilation functions.

Under the hood, the M9 utilizes BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, pairing a 1.5T engine (45.3% thermal efficiency) with an electric motor. It features a 26.6kWh battery, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 145km and a total combined range of 1,105km. The NEDC fuel consumption in a depleted state is 4.95L/100km.

It is worth noting that the current two configurations of the Linghui M9 are limited to cruise control and lack advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping assist. However, the company has announced that a future “Yunlian Flagship” version will be equipped with the DiPilot 100 system, featuring 26 high-precision sensors to support highway NOA and automated parking.
As a new brand under BYD, Linghui is designed to operate independently, focusing on the ride-hailing, taxi, and government fleet markets to differentiate itself from BYD’s consumer-focused Dynasty and Ocean series.
