At present, the China-produced Model Y Performance all-wheel-drive version has been delivered in China. According to the car owners and Chinese media, the MCU responsible for the entertainment system of the car has been replaced from the Intel Atom A3950 processor chip to AMD Ryzen.

It is understood that all models of Model 3 and Model Y Standard Battery Life upgrades that have been sold before, all use the Intel Atom A3950 processor chip in the car entertainment system. This chip has been adopted in Tesla models in 2018, and the performance is relatively behind. According to the leaker’s video, the system fluency of the Model Y Performance all-wheel-drive version has been significantly improved after the new MCU is installed. However, it is not clear whether the car is also equipped with the same graphics card as the new Model S/X.

In addition, some Chinese media found through disassembly that the China Spec Model Y Performance all-wheel drive version uses a brand new 12V battery, which is driven by a lithium battery, and the actual measured voltage is close to 16V, which is not the traditional 12V lead-acid battery. The new 12V battery will have a stronger power reserve and take up less space in the car.
