Images leaked online show that Geely‘s LEVC brand is entering the Chinese market with a cutting-edge commercial electric MPV called “Xspace” (Chinese name “翼真” or Yizhen).
With a distinctly futuristic design, the Xspace boasts a low-drag coefficient shape, a steeply raked windshield, and sleek lines. The split headlight design features a bar-type daytime running light, while the lower headlights merge seamlessly with the front spoiler, reminiscent of some Ideal models.
The generously proportioned body, measuring 5316mm long, 1998mm wide, and 1940mm tall, sits atop a 3185mm wheelbase and weighs 2805kg. Offering flexibility for various needs, the Xspace comes in both 6- and 8-seat configurations.
The rear features eye-catching, L-shaped taillights that span the entire width of the vehicle, while the large rear window and tailgate provide ample access for cargo.
Powertrain and Performance
Powered by an electric motor (from VREMT) delivering 200 kW, pairing with ternary lithium batteries produced by Geely. The vehicle is expected to incorporate the CTP battery system integration technology from CATL, allowing for a 73-120 kWh battery pack and an impressive range exceeding 600km. Additionally, the Xspace boasts impressive fast-charging capabilities, reaching 80% charge from 10% in just 30 minutes and 200km range in 10 minutes. The MPV also supports various L2-L4 autonomous driving assistance technologies.
Interior Design
The Xspace’s interior embraces a minimalist aesthetic. The floating center console houses a large touchscreen display, while the focus on seating comfort is evident throughout the spacious cabin. The 8-seat variant features a unique 2+2+2+2 layout with fixed seats, while the 6-seat version adopts a more traditional 2+2+2 configuration.
Overall, the LEVC Xspace presents a compelling proposition in the commercial electric MPV segment. Its futuristic design, spacious interior, powerful drivetrain, impressive range, and advanced autonomous driving capabilities make it a vehicle worth watching.
