Geely officially unveiled its new compact electric car, the Xing Yuan (Chinese “星愿”, meaning “wishes”, on September 3rd. The new car will be equipped with the Flyme Auto in-car system, providing users with a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience. The car is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter.
In terms of exterior design, the Geely Xingyuan adopts a completely new design language, breaking away from the monotonous boxy shapes common in this segment. The overall surface is very smooth, creating a high degree of recognizability. Specifically, the car features a closed front grille, paired with rounded polygonal headlights on both sides and dual C-shaped air ducts on the lower sides, enhancing the car’s sporty appearance.
The side profile of the Geely Xingyuan exhibits a well-proportioned and muscular stance. Design highlights include flared wheel arches, flush door handles, aerodynamic wheels, and a two-tone paint scheme. These elements contribute to a fresh and dynamic visual appeal. Classified as a compact car, it measures 4135mm in length, 1805mm in width, 1570mm in height, and has a 2650mm wheelbase.
At the rear, the car adopts a similar rounded triangular taillight design, echoing the front.
The interior of the Geely Xingyuan presents a contemporary and sporty design. Highlights include a dual-tone, multi-functional steering wheel, a large digital instrument cluster, and a floating infotainment touchscreen. The Flyme Auto in-car system offers advanced connectivity and features. The air conditioning vents feature a unique rounded rectangular design with chrome accents.
It is revealed that the car will be built on a new platform, with independent suspension as standard across the entire lineup, and will be equipped with an 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system and CATL batteries. In terms of power, according to previous declaration information, the car will offer two power options depending on the configuration, with maximum power outputs of 58kW and 85kW respectively. In terms of range, its CLTC pure electric range is around 500km.
