On April 21, FAW-Volkswagen officially debuted the ID.AURA T6, the inaugural model of the brand’s new ID.AURA series. Positioned as a mid-size pure electric SUV, the vehicle features a spacious five-seat layout and serves as the launchpad for the brand’s China Electronic Architecture (CEA) and CARIZON intelligent driving assistance suite.

The ID.AURA T6 showcases a completely new design direction. The front end features a closed-off grille, a signature full-width light strip, and an illuminated brand logo. The split-headlight design includes extremely slim upper LED units, creating a sharp, modern look. A LiDAR sensor is prominently positioned on the roof, signaling its high-level autonomous driving capabilities.

The side profile is defined by a continuous character line, semi-hidden door handles, and flared wheel arches. The side mirrors incorporate specialized blue indicator lights to signal when smart driving modes are active. The rear follows the front’s lead with a sleek, full-width LED taillight assembly that mirrors the headlamp design.

The ID.AURA T6 is built on a “central computing + zonal control” architecture. It utilizes a premium smart driving system developed by CARIZON—the joint venture between Volkswagen Group and Horizon Robotics. This system is capable of handling high-speed and urban navigation pilot tasks, significantly enhancing the intelligent driving experience.
