On May 6, NIO Automobile officially released sales data. In April 2020, NIO delivered 3,155 new cars, an increase of 180.7% year-on-year, and 105.8% month-on-month. It has doubled the number of deliveries for two consecutive months. As of the end of April this year, NIO had delivered 6,993 vehicles in 2020.
Specific to the model, NIO ES6 delivered 2,907 new vehicles in April, a record high. Since the delivery began in June 2018, the total brand of NIO has delivered 38,906 vehicles, including 20,923 ES8 and 17,983 ES6.
According to the data released by CPCA on April 29, the average daily sales of passenger cars in the first 25 days of April were 35,380 vehicles in the Chinese market, a decrease of 1.6% year-on-year. Although the substantial increase in the proportion of NIO’s sales is related to its smaller sales base, it is still worthy of recognition that the recovery rate exceeds the industry average. In the announcement issued by NIO, NIO’s founders Li Bin and CFO Feng Wei said that the performance in April was attributed to resumption measures of supply chain and manufacturers.
In terms of the after-sales service network, as of May 6 this year, NIO has opened 105 stores nationwide, including 22 NIO House and 83 NIO Space. The sales network has covered 71 cities across the country.
At the end of April 2020, NIO Automobile and Hefei government signed an agreement, NIO China headquarters was officially settled in Hefei. At the same time, NIO has also harvested 7 billion yuan in strategic financing. In the future, it will have more abundant funds to support business development to ensure the continued launch of high-quality smart electric vehicle products and technologies to provide users with a better service experience.
