Recently, NIO announced the delivery data of NIO ES8 in the first quarter of 2019. According to the data, NIO delivered a total of 3,989 units of ES8 in the first quarter of 2019. As of the first quarter, NIO delivered a total of 15,337 units of ES8.
In June 2018, NIO ES8 began delivery. At that time, NIO set a target of “delivering 10,000 vehicles in 2018”. By the end of December 2018, NIO delivered 11,348 units of ES8. Among them, the delivery volume in August-September was broken by thousands, the delivery volume peaked from November to December, with an average monthly delivery of more than 3,000 vehicles.
In February 2019, due to factors of Chinese Spring Festival, NIO delivered only 811 ES8. However, the delivery data for both January and March exceeded 1,000 vehicles. Previously, NIO released the “2019 Insurance Policy”: From April 1 to June 25th 2019, users who purchase existing cars or pay deposit can enjoy a state subsidy of 27,000 yuan and a local subsidy of 13,500 yuan, total 40,500 yuan (~USD6,029) .
Although the 2019 achieved 3,989 vehicles in the first quarter, it was not a good result compared to the 7,980 vehicles created in the last quarter. NIO official seems to be quite satisfied with the data. NIO said that the delivery volume in the first quarter has exceeded the previous forecast of 3,500 to 3,800 vehicles, based on the midpoint range of the expected range, delivery in the first quarter exceeded expectations by 9.3%.
