On April 8, IM L6 opened for pre-sale, with three configuration models available, priced between RMB 230,000 and RMB 330,000 (~US$31,800 – US$45,600). The model equipped with the solid-state battery is officially named the IM L6 Max Light Year Edition. It is the fourth model under the IM brand, positioned as a pure electric medium-to-large sedan. The new car will be the first to be equipped with the industry’s first mass-produced ultra-fast charging solid-state battery, with an acceleration of 0-100km/h that breaks into the 2-second club, and a CLTC pure electric range of over 1000 kilometers. According to previous plans, the new car will be officially launched in May, and the official said that the specific content of the IMOS 3.0 system will meet with everyone at the Beijing Auto Show.

At the press conference, IM Motors announced that the 900V ultra-fast charging solid-state battery is officially named “the first generation of Light Year solid-state battery”, with a peak charging power of up to 400kW, and a range of 400 kilometers in 12 minutes. In addition, the official said that the CLTC pure electric range will break through 1000 kilometers.

In terms of appearance, the IM L6 continues the family-style design, with the overall appearance giving a strong sense of fashion. The front face is a closed-off shape, with sharp headlights, further enhancing the momentum of the front face.


The new car adopts a sedan-coupe shape on the side, with slightly raised wheel arch lines at the front and rear。 The rear of the new car is very sexy, with the upturned ducktail design showing a performance style, and the taillight shape is also very eye-catching. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4931/1960/1474mm and a wheelbase of 2950mm. In terms of body color, the new car will be available in 7 exterior colors, including one limited edition color.

The interior of the new car continues the family-style full-frame digital cockpit, integrating simplicity and technology. The central control consists of a 26.3-inch connected screen and a 10.5-inch touch screen, and is equipped with a half-spoke steering wheel. In terms of details, compared to the IM LS6 (full-view car), the IM L6’s air conditioning vents adopt a more flat design, and it is also equipped with a ventilated wireless charging panel, and the shape of the storage compartment next to it has been adjusted.

The car seats continue to use the POPO cloud-sensing seats, and the magnetic suction plate of the expansion dock at the back of the seats will also be retained. The rear row is equipped with 1 Type-C charging interface, and the panoramic sunroof design ensures head space.
In terms of power, the new car will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, with the single-motor version having a maximum power of 216kW, and the dual-motor version having maximum powers of 200kW and 379kW, respectively. The acceleration from 0 to 100km/h breaks into the 2-second club. According to the list of vehicles exempted from purchase tax, the new car will be available with batteries of 90kWh and 100kWh capacity, with ranges of 700/720/750/770km. In addition, the official announced that the new car will also be the first to be equipped with a solid-state battery, with a CLTC pure electric range of over 1000km.
