Chery has officially unveiled the first images of its all-new mid-size pickup truck, the Stockman (codenamed KP31). Designed specifically for the Australian market, this hybrid pickup embraces a rugged yet refined “passenger-oriented” aesthetic, signaling Chery’s intent to expand its global product portfolio into the lifestyle and outdoor adventure segments. The Stockman is scheduled for an international launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, with plans for specialized off-road accessory packages to follow.

In terms of design, the Stockman moves away from the utilitarian, boxy look of traditional work trucks, opting for a more sophisticated, SUV-like appearance. The front fascia is dominated by a massive horizontal grille featuring the prominent Chery emblem, flanked by sharp, split-style LED headlights with extended daytime running light signatures. The front bumper integrates a matte-finish skid plate and dot-style fog lights, balancing a rugged aesthetic with functional protection.

The side profile features a standard four-door double-cab configuration, ensuring ample space for adult passengers in the rear. The cargo bed is designed to balance daily utility with the capacity for camping gear. Factory-fitted side steps enhance accessibility, while black wheel arch cladding and multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires emphasize its off-road capabilities.

The rear design is clean and structured, featuring vertical LED taillights with integrated reversing lights. The cargo bed is equipped with factory-installed anti-slip rails and a dampened tailgate mechanism for ease of use.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the comfort and technology of a modern city SUV. Key features include a dual-screen floating display, a multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an electronic gear shifter. The interior is finished with soft-touch materials across the door panels and dashboard, and it comes well-equipped with amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, and automatic climate control.

Under the hood, the Chery Stockman utilizes a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine paired with an electric motor. It also features an intelligent four-wheel-drive system equipped with three differential locks, offering various off-road driving modes to handle challenging terrains like gravel, mud, and steep inclines.
