On January 8, Chery Holdings Group announced the full-year sales data for 2019, Chery sold a total of 745,000 vehicles throughout the year, a slight decrease of 0.9% compared with 752,000 in 2018. Among them, Chery exported 96,000 cars, ranking first among Chinese brand passenger cars for 17 consecutive years.

Chery, as a Chinese car brand that has engaged in international market earlier, has achieved sufficient development in overseas business, covering more than 80 countries and regions overseas, and has exported more than 1.5 million cars in total. Chery exported a total of 126,993 vehicles in 2018, a year-on-year decrease of 24% in 2019. The automobile segment is the core business of Chery Holdings Group, in recent years, Chery has accelerated the pace of exploring overseas markets, and has performed well in both fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles.
Last November, Chery officially entered the Philippines market in cooperation with UAAGI, a well-known auto dealer in the Philippines. At the same time, Chery’s Tiggo 8, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 5x, and Tiggo 2, the four Tiggo series products were introduced locally, which aroused the attention of many media and consumers. At the same time, Chery also held a brand conference in Qatar, bringing Tiggo 8, Tiggo 7, Arrizo6 and other models.

Jetour is a new brand of Chery Holdings Group. In March 2019, more than 100 Jetour X70 and X70S vehicles were shipped from Qingdao and Shanghai ports to Angola and Ecuador, marking Jetour’s first step of export. In the future, Jetour will integrate product resources, enrich product portfolios, realize product diversification, and gradually expand overseas markets to cover Southeast Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East.
Chery’s export business has a history of nearly 20 years. In 2001, Chery entered the Middle East market, bringing the first 10 1st-gen Fulwin cars to Syria and officially starting its overseas journey. In the Latin American region, Chery has entered Brazil, Chile, Argentina and other countries. In addition, Chery has been operating in markets such as Russia, Ukraine, and Egypt for many years. The automobile market in developed countries is also in the layout, and Chery will also cooperate with American companies in the future to accelerate its pace into the European and American markets.
