Recently, Chery announced that its mid-size SUV OMODA 5 officially rolled off the assembly line in the second assembly workshop in Wuhu, Anhui Province. Officials said that the vehicle is scheduled to be launched in many markets around the world in the first half of the year. According to previous news, the car is expected to sell for around 110,000-150,000 yuan (~US$17325 – US$23,625).

Chery OMODA 5 was officially released during the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show. It adopts the latest design concept and is more avant-garde compared to Chery’s previous models. The front face of the new car is featured with the popular borderless style design, which is very much like Changan UNI-T, and the split headlights are subtly integrated into the overall design of the front of the car.

In the side part, this car focuses on creating a dynamic style. Combined with the auto show car, it has a hidden B-pillars and C-pillars, which brings a visual sense of the floating roof. With the black exterior mirrors and individual wheels, it can be seen that it mainly targets the young consumer market. The rear part of the car adopts a bar-type visual design, and the vertical light group is used inside the taillights, which has a good lighting effect.

In the car interior, the dual-screen design is very familiar to everyone, which not only enhances the sense of technology, but also makes the interior of the car more concise. The car is also equipped with a multi-function steering wheel, electronic shift lever, wireless charging, Carplay and many other functions.

In terms of power, OMODA 5 will be powered by Kunpeng Power 1.6TGDI engine with a maximum power of 197 horsepower and a peak torque of 290 Nm. In the future, pure electric and hybrid versions will be launched as well.
