NIO Automobile announced that it has reached strategic cooperation with Intel’s autonomous driving technology company Mobileye. In the future, the two parties will build L4 level, autonomous driving models, based on NIO’s second-generation vehicle platform.

NIO introduced that the two parties will focus on the passenger car market and smart travel service areas, and will build L4 level autonomous driving smart electric models on the second generation platform of NIO. Mobileye is responsible for the Mobileye EyeQ system chip and related software provided, and NIO is responsible for the development, integration and mass production of vehicle-level automatic driving systems. In addition, on the basis of mass-produced auto-driving models in the future, Mobileye will create a special edition dedicated to smart mobility services, and Mobileye will purchase this model in batches.
