The iCAR V25 made its global debut at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, positioning itself as a mid-size SUV that builds upon design language of the smaller V23. Featuring a retro “boxy” aesthetic, the V25 is set to hit showrooms by late September, with an official market launch scheduled for November.

### Exterior Design and Capability
The V25 retains the brand’s “future-classic” design, characterized by a clamshell hood, circular LED headlights, and a wide-body stance. The vehicle measures 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Its “four-wheel, four-corner” layout, combined with a 197 mm ground clearance and respectable approach (30°) and departure (28°) angles, provides genuine light off-road capability.

The exterior is highly modular, featuring a removable D-pillar blind window panel for customization and a side-opening tailgate with a 22.7L external storage box. The vehicle rides on 21-inch wheels wrapped in 265 mm wide tires.

### Interior and Technology
Inside, the cabin offers three color schemes and centers around a 15.4-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm QCM8538 chip, supporting 5G and Bluetooth 6.0. The interior prioritizes utility, offering 41 storage compartments and a flexible seating arrangement that allows for a “double bed” mode by folding the front and rear seats flat.

For intelligent driving, the V25 offers an optional LiDAR system. It is expected to utilize the Horizon Robotics Journey 6P chip and the “Falcon 700+” driver-assistance suite, enabling advanced navigation-assisted driving on both urban roads and highways.

### Powertrain and Performance
The V25 is powered by a 1.5T range-extender system. It delivers a combined output of 455 horsepower and 505 Nm of torque. Equipped with a 33.679 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the SUV achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.9 seconds. It offers a pure electric range of over 210 km (CLTC) and a total combined range exceeding 1,200 km.

### Editor’s Take
Compared to the earlier V23, the V25 offers a significantly more spacious cabin and enhanced storage utility, making it better suited for a lifestyle that balances daily commuting with weekend getaways. The shift to a range-extended powertrain effectively expands the vehicle’s travel radius compared to pure electric alternatives. With its high level of intelligence and distinct, customizable retro styling, the V25 is positioned to be a highly competitive and personality-driven option in the mid-size SUV segment.
