Mitsubishi has officially unveiled its new five-year product roadmap, outlining the launch of 13 new models. The upcoming lineup will be heavily focused on SUVs, complemented by new pickup trucks and vans. In terms of powertrains, the brand is committing to a mix of hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) systems.

Most notably, the next-generation Mitsubishi Pajero (marketed as Montero in certain regions) is confirmed for a global debut this autumn. According to the teaser information, the Pajero will return not just as a single model, but as a dedicated sub-brand or series. The flagship model will lead the rollout, followed by subsequent compact and subcompact SUV variants.

The teaser indicates that the new Pajero series aims to balance Mitsubishi’s traditional DNA—specifically its renowned off-road capability and rugged reliability—with modern requirements for environmental sustainability, safety, and comfort. The ultimate goal is to establish a product family that both preserves and evolves the core spirit of the Mitsubishi brand.

Based on previous spy shots and renderings, the new vehicle will adopt Mitsubishi’s latest design language. It features a prominent, large-scale front grille adorned with multiple horizontal slats, flanked by distinctive T-shaped headlights. Furthermore, the vehicle clearly embraces a bold, “boxy” silhouette, signaling a return to its utilitarian roots.

Under the hood, the new Pajero is expected to offer a 3.8L V6 naturally aspirated engine, producing 310 horsepower. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid variant is anticipated, likely pairing a 2.4L engine with a dual-motor setup. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
