On September 7th, we learned from the official that the MG4 EV XPOWER was officially launched, priced at 13,9800 yuan.
This car is not a single market model that is only aimed at the Chinese market. The overall design of the car is developed by SAIC Group’s teams in China and the UK. In addition to the Chinese market, it also needs to meet the driving needs of users in Europe and more countries. The entire vehicle adopts a more aggressive and sporty design language, especially the front part that looks very fierce.
As a pure electric car that focuses on youth sports, the MG4 EV XPOWER is compact from the side, with a physical size and volume similar to that of the Volkswagen ID.3. This body shape is more convenient for shuttle in crowded traffic and parking in various parking spaces.
The rear line is much more complex than the front, whether it is a split spoiler with a hollow design or a bottom guard design, the undulating design adds a lot of flexibility and fun. The tail light design can also be described as unique. The through type LED not only has a clear trend of protruding outward from the lampshade, but also the bifurcated design on both sides enhances visual tension.
The interior adopts a relatively simple design language, with a more homely atmosphere. The unique design in terms of appearance, I think, is the small tray style design that protrudes below the central control screen, with only three functions: knob lever, mobile phone charging slot, and electronic handbrake. The height and protruding distance are both just right. The dimensions of the instrument panel and the central control car linkage screen are 7 inches and 10.25 inches respectively, and the visual area is not particularly large.
In terms of power, the new EV offers two layouts: rear single motor and front and rear dual motor, with a single motor providing 125kW and 150kW power; The dual motor version has a maximum power of 315kW and a peak torque of 600N · m, with an acceleration of 0-100km/h in only 3.8 seconds. At the same time, the new car is equipped with SAIC’s “Magic Cube” battery, providing 51kWh (lithium iron phosphate battery) and 64kWh (ternary lithium battery). In terms of range, the two wheel drive model has a maximum range of 425km and 520km (CLTC) depending on the battery, while the four wheel drive model has a maximum range of 460km (CLTC).
