MG to Unveil New Electric Hatchback Concept at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The first highly anticipated model is an as-yet-unnamed small electric hatchback. Designed specifically for the European market, this vehicle will serve as a zero-emission alternative to the MG2 hybrid, positioning it to compete directly against mainstream small EVs such as the Renault 5 E-Tech, the Volkswagen ID. Polo, and the Mini Cooper Electric.

Based on the teaser information, the new car features a rounded, grille-less front fascia with cute, stylized headlights. The MG logo is prominently placed on the C-pillar, while the rear end emphasizes a sporty aesthetic with LED light clusters and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The second concept car has yet to have its exterior revealed, but MG describes it as an “electric design vision.” Rather than being a simple design study, it is intended to evolve into a high-end, aspirational model that will further expand the brand’s product lineup.

In addition to the concept cars, MG will showcase a range of production models, including the MG S9 plug-in hybrid, the MG4 EV, the ZS hybrid, the HS plug-in hybrid, the Cyberster, and the IM5 sedan. Interactive robot performances at the booth will also add to the excitement for attendees. Full details on all concept cars will be officially unveiled on July 9 by Jozef Kabaň, MG’s Vice President of Global Design. We will continue to follow up on further information regarding MG.
