Zeekr Expands Global Footprint: 009 Glory Edition and 9X Debut in Malaysia

Zeekr has officially debuted at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) in Malaysia, marking a significant step in its global expansion. During the event, the brand opened pre-orders for the Zeekr 009 Glory Edition and the Zeekr 9X. According to reports, the Zeekr 9X is available for pre-order at 800,000 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately $170,000 USD), while the Zeekr 009 Glory Edition is priced at 600,000 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately $127,500 USD).

While these prices are notably higher than those in the Chinese domestic market, the premium reflects the additional costs associated with right-hand drive adaptation, international logistics, and localized marketing efforts. From a strategic perspective, Zeekr appears to be positioning the 009 Glory Edition as a direct competitor to top-tier luxury MPVs like the Lexus LM, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to the high-end segment. It remains to be seen how Malaysian consumers will respond to this pricing strategy.

For Chinese automotive brands expanding overseas, balancing tax barriers with competitive pricing remains a critical challenge. Zeekr has stated that it will continue to deepen its presence in the Malaysian market, aiming to provide local users with more diverse intelligent luxury mobility options through an expanded product lineup and enhanced service experiences.

On June 18, Zeekr announced its “9 Series” dual-flagship global expansion strategy. As part of this initiative, the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr 009 Glory Edition is scheduled to officially launch in the Hong Kong market in the fourth quarter of 2026.

As of June 16, Zeekr has achieved a cumulative delivery milestone of 800,000 vehicles. In the Malaysian market, the Zeekr 7X has already secured the title of the best-selling pure electric luxury SUV for the period of January to May 2026.
