Xpeng Expands MONA Lineup with New L03 Compact SUV

On June 22, Xpeng MONA officially announced that its first SUV model will be named the MONA L03, with the “L” designation signifying its SUV body style. Positioned as a compact SUV, the new model will offer both pure electric and range-extender powertrain options and is expected to hit the market later this year.

In terms of design, the Xpeng MONA L03 continues the signature design language of the MONA family. The vehicle features smooth, rounded lines and a distinct coupe-like silhouette, blending fluidity with a youthful, sporty aesthetic. The side profile is sleek and elongated, equipped with semi-hidden door handles to effectively reduce aerodynamic drag. The rear design echoes the front, featuring full-width “streaming” taillights, with air diversion slots on both sides to further enhance the vehicle’s dynamic stance. In terms of dimensions, the L03 measures 4650mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2850mm.

Regarding performance, the range-extender version of the Xpeng MONA L03 is equipped with a 1.5L range-extender hybrid system. The range extender itself has a maximum power output of 70 kW, while the single drive motor delivers a peak power of 183 kW. The model offers multiple WLTC pure electric range variants, specifically 257 km, 241 km, and 249 km.

The pure electric version of the Xpeng MONA L03 is powered by a 183 kW drive motor paired with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs from CALB. It offers two battery capacity options: 56 kWh and 69 kWh. Depending on the configuration, the CLTC-rated range varies across several options, including 505 km, 525 km, 530 km, 550 km, 605 km, 625 km, 630 km, and 650 km.
