At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Dongfeng Forthing officially unveiled its new TK5 and TK7 models, alongside a specialized camping edition of the V9 MPV. The new TK series marks a strategic expansion for the brand, with Europe serving as the launchpad before rolling out to markets in the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia. According to the company, the “T” in the series stands for “Technology,” while “K” represents “Kinetic innovation.” Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor currently operates nine KD (Knock-Down) plants globally, supporting a network that spans over 120 countries and regions.
The Dongfeng Forthing TK5 is a five-seater SUV tailored for young urban professionals, focusing on daily commuting and personal mobility. It features the brand’s signature “waterfall” headlights and a modern, electrified front fascia designed to appeal to family-oriented aesthetics.
In terms of performance, the TK5 offers both pure electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The EV variant is equipped with an 800V high-voltage fast-charging system, delivering a maximum output of 200 kW and a range exceeding 550 km (approx. 342 miles). The Dongfeng Forthing TK7 is an MPV designed for larger families, catering to multi-passenger travel and long-distance road trips. It shares the family design language, including the waterfall-style headlights. The interior is highly versatile, featuring flexible seating configurations for 5 to 8 passengers and 37 distinct storage compartments to maximize utility.
The TK7 also provides both EV and PHEV options. The PHEV model features a 1.5L system with a pure electric range of 210 km (approx. 130 miles) and a combined range of 1,100 km (approx. 684 miles). Additionally, the V9 Camping Edition integrates the spaciousness of a mid-to-large MPV with outdoor lifestyle features, including a pop-up roof bed, a convertible large bed, and a side awning. It is powered by a 1.5T PHEV system, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 200 km (approx. 124 miles). The engine delivers a maximum power of 113 kW, paired with a 150 kW electric motor, achieving a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.2L/100km in a low-charge state.
