Cheryโs upcoming mid-size pickup, the Stockman (codenamed KP31), has had its performance specifications revealed ahead of its scheduled overseas delivery in early 2027. First unveiled in June, the truck is set to launch with a diesel-based plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, with a gasoline-based PHEV variant to follow.
The diesel PHEV system delivers a robust 350 kW of power and a peak torque of 800 Nm. It is paired with a 34 kWh battery pack, providing an all-electric range of 96 km. The vehicle boasts a rated towing capacity of 3,495 kg. To ensure off-road capability, the Stockman features a chassis with a front double-wishbone suspension and rear leaf springs, complemented by standard front, center, and rear locking differentials. The future gasoline PHEV model is expected to feature an independent rear suspension.
The Stockman adopts a rugged design language, highlighted by a large horizontal-bar grille, circular headlights, and a matte-finish front bumper guard. It comes standard with all-terrain tires and offers multiple off-road driving modes designed to handle challenging surfaces such as gravel, mud, and steep inclines.
Inside, the cabin aims to match the comfort and technology of modern urban SUVs. Key features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, automatic climate control, and a 14-speaker audio system. It is also equipped with an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS).
