The BYD Da Tang EV has officially launched, with four models available at a price range of 239,900 to 309,900 RMB (approximately $33,000 to $42,700 USD). The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, offering a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 950 km. It also features the “Eye of the Gods” 5.0 advanced driver-assistance system, rear-wheel steering, and the Yunlian-A body control system.
In terms of exterior design, the BYD Da Tang offers five monochromatic paint options and three two-tone combinations. It continues the brand’s “Oriental Aesthetics” design language, featuring a 2.41-meter integrated “Flying Eaves” daytime running light containing 396 LED beads. The front bumper incorporates a trapezoidal air intake with a folding fan element. The vehicle rides on 21-inch wheels and measures 5263/1999/1790 (1800) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3130 mm, positioning it as a large SUV.
Inside, the cabin features wood grain trim inspired by ancient Chinese architecture. The dashboard houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger entertainment screen, and a 50-inch AR-HUD. The 2+2+3 seating layout includes zero-gravity front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage, while the second row offers aviation-style seats with a 146° recline and 70° adjustable leg rests.
Performance-wise, the Da Tang EV offers single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor versions produce 300kW or 370kW, paired with 105.79kWh or 130.15kWh batteries, achieving ranges of 800km and 950km respectively. The dual-motor AWD model delivers 585kW, hits 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and offers an 850km range. The chassis includes the Yunlian-A dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering with a ±7° angle, resulting in a turning radius of just 5.2 meters.
