Stellantis Unveils Massive $65 Billion Investment Plan: 110 New Models and Jeep’s Global Return
Johna
Stellantis has officially unveiled its strategic roadmap for the next five years. By 2030, the automotive giant plans to invest £52 billion (approximately $65.6 billion USD) to launch 60 all-new models alongside 50 refreshed or next-generation products. A cornerstone of this strategy is the introduction of the STLA One modular architecture in 2027. This versatile platform will support internal combustion, hybrid, pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extender powertrains. It will also integrate advanced technologies, including steer-by-wire, the STLA AutoDrive autonomous driving system, the STLA Brain software architecture, and the STLA SmartCockpit. The group has also recalibrated its brand portfolio. Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat have been designated as the four core global brands, set to receive approximately 70% of total R&D investment. Alfa Romeo and Dodge will serve as regional pillars leveraging shared technologies, while Maserati is slated to launch two large flagship models, with further details expected in December. Lancia and DS will continue to focus on niche markets. For the European market, the focus is on compact crossovers, hybrids, and urban EVs. Peugeot will introduce seven new models, Opel four, Fiat five, and Citroën three, including a revival of the iconic 2CV. Notably, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile (DPCA) will produce two Peugeot and two Jeep models for the global market. Additionally, Stellantis will collaborate with Dongfeng to sell Voyah vehicles in Europe. In North America, the Jeep lineup will expand significantly. The Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer will receive facelifts, including new SRT high-performance variants. The Recon will gain an internal combustion engine option, and the lineup will be further bolstered by the Wrangler Scrambler SRT pickup and a new-generation Compass. Chrysler is set to launch the production version of the Airflow, with a starting price expected to be under $40,000, alongside two entry-level models, the Arrow and Arrow Cross, priced under $30,000. Dodge will introduce a mid-size SUV (GLH), a sports car (Copperhead SRT), and a new Durango. Ram will expand its portfolio with the Rampage compact pickup, the Dakota mid-size pickup, the Ramcharger full-size SUV, and the all-new Ram 1500.
