Beijing Off-Road Debuts Xingtan 5X SUV at 2026 Chengdu Motor Show

The Beijing Off-Road Xingtan 5X made its official debut at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show. This mid-to-large SUV enters the market with a versatile powertrain lineup, including internal combustion engine (ICE), battery electric (BEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

The Xingtan 5X features a rugged, boxy aesthetic reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender, paying homage to Beijing Off-Road’s heritage of hard-core utility vehicles. The vehicle commands a significant road presence, measuring 5,000 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,910 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,875 mm (including the rear-mounted spare tire).

Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch dual-screen setup. Furthermore, the vehicle is expected to feature Huawei’s ADS Pro advanced intelligent driving assistance system.

In terms of performance, the pure electric variant delivers a maximum power output of 227 kW, powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 625 km. The plug-in hybrid model utilizes a 1.5T engine (105 kW) paired with either a single-motor or dual-motor configuration. The single-motor version provides 200 kW, while the dual-motor setup adds a 200 kW rear motor. Equipped with a 50.4 kWh LFP battery, the PHEV model achieves a WLTC pure electric range of 232 km, with expectations that the CLTC standard will exceed 300 km.
